Snohomish County had a lower unemployment rate than the statewide average last month, according to the WA State Employment Security Department. Only King County had a lower rate. In turn, however, the state trailed the rate of national employment. The US rate fell below five percent, the state rate was just above six percent, and the county rate was 4.5 percent.
